It is out on DVD. It was made at least in part by the BBC. I love it. The filming is amazing, fully up to the BBC's track record in such documentary work.

Where did you get your copy? I haven't heard of it coming out on DVD here.

Dion :)

From my DVD rental store last week in Japan.

Hi Everyone,

Isn't the Deep Blue movie based on the Series: Blue Planet? I watched the trailers for Deep Blue, and some the footage is identical the Blue Planet Dvd's.
If you have never seen the "Blue Planet" series, it is a MUST to have as a part of your collection. There are 4 in the series:
Ocean World/Frozen Seas
Tidal Seas/Coasts
Open Ocean/The Deep
Seasonal Seas/Coral Seas

You can find them relatively cheap on line, they sell them in VHS as well. I highly recommend them.

Dion:
Has anyone seen the documentary "Deep Blue"? The website is http://www.deepbluethemovie.com/main.html but it looks like a UK production but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be playing close to me. I hope it comes out on DVD, I would like to see it.

Dion :)

I saw it a little while ago on a big screen in downtown Manhattan... VERY nice! Of course, probably more appreciated by divers than by others, but even for those who don't blow bubbles, it had very nice visuals. I saw it with a dive buddy...

deep blue has been out for years, its just reeditted footage from the blue planet tv series. Probably really good, but i'll stick with my blue planet box set. you can download the torrent files if you really want it:-

Thanks! I wasn't aware of that. I saw that series on Amazon last night when I was looking for Deep Blue and I put it on my wish list. I will definitely have to get it.

Hi Dion,

You won't regret your purchase, this is the kind of documentary series that you watch over and over again, and will never get tired of it!

Enjoy it!
