I'm wondering how many people carry spares all the way to the dive site.

I've always carried some of the basics but lately have started bringing more "stuff" with an even bigger collection back at the car.

I do.
They can't save a dive if they aren't where the dive is happening.
Used it many a time for myself as well as my buddy's.

Depends on how you define "all the way to the dive site." When I go on a boat my kit goes with me, when I'm at a local site the kit is either on the picnic table where I'm getting ready or in the car if the site isn't secure enough to leave stuff out unattended. It is all readily accessible if I need it though.

Definitely. Especially if it's not a boat dive.

On the boat or, if a shore dive, a short walk away is close enough. Here in the PI, we have a lot of small resorts where we leave stuff then take small boats to the site. So someone who left their kit in their gear bag back at the resort wouldn't be taking it to the dive site.

Always, but like others in a non secure area it is in the truck and always on the boat.

Always. I have a plastic watertight box that fits into the back of my mesh bag, with all the usual bits, a couple of spanners (wrenches), screwdrivers, a (cheap) leatherman-style tool, etc

I carry a portable dive shop ... ;)

Small hard-plastic kit goes to the boat. Other items in truck or at hotel.

All the way? How far is that?

My favorite dive site is only 100 feet from my apartment building. I usually leave my Save a Dive kit on the deck.
