I eat for the dive. If I know I'm going down to 125 in 40 degree I make sure I take in at least 2000 calories.

But on a typical dive day in Coz I'll drink water/juice and and try to at least have a torta or something "filling".

On non dive days or non dive mornings I do coffee in the morning and then have lunch.

Someone had mentioned beans and puking...yep done that LOTS. I even teach students how to do it.

This maybe somewhat cruel. my wife will sometimes get sick between dives, so when she's puking i'm usually eating. and by the way puke is a great chum, you should see the fish!
 
Coffee, toast with peanut butter, maybe a banana...the lighter and 'drier' the better...no fatty foods before diving.

I might have a sandwich before a dive... but nothing heavy.
