DAN insurance for sure. It's true--for the amount of $$ that is invested in the career/sport, the annual cost is minimal.

Like auto, home, or life insurance--you may not like to do it, but it's nice to have when/if you need it.

 Well I guess I'm the only one here with PADI Diving Society protection insurance ???

Looks like I will be getting DAN very soon. From reading all the post so far it seems like it should be something that I should have. I have only been diving since Febuary of this year and guess I have been lucky that I didn't need it. I know that the chance it rare but better be safe than penniless from having to pay medical bills.

I've got the DAN master plan. I think it is well worth the investment.

For about a hundred bucks a year, mine is actually more because of Pro membership, I have their top insurance policy. Cheap peace of mind that I don't want to have to use. But its there if I need it.

Wow, way to resurrect an old thread! I just used my DAN insurance for a chamber ride. The tech that was in with me said " good thing you have DAN, and not anything else". I did not ask him to elaborate ( I had a plastic tub over my head) , but I got the jist of it. I will be a DAN member as long as I am diving.
