Actually because he said 2640 I assumed that he couldn't go one pound more, and this is the BEST he can ever expect to see.

Argon in my experience (so far :)) comes in steel 2400 PSI cylinders that are + rated. The gas supplier guarantees only 2400, which means you'll get it in a range of 2400 to 2640 (2400 + 10%). The folks at the gas counter will usually quote "2640" even though it's not guaranteed.

I've had shops tell me "We have Argon at 2640." Yhea, only when they get a brand new bottle and only if it's a good bulk fill. But more often than not, the employees are all over a new bottle when it comes in for the very reason that they can get good fills, and by the time the customer sees it it's at 2000-1500 or so.

So the fact that TMD (isn't that some kind of jaw problem? :)) mentioned 2640 set off all sorts of alarms in my mind that he's not going to get good fills.

Ah Ha!

Your past experience took you in one direction...
And my reading skill took me in another...

"I did just find a shop that will pump Argon $10-12 for a 2640 fill"

But I am willing to wager that your past experience is right....
Wanna bet?

OK TDM...
What is the correct answer....
Is the shop transfilling(Roakey's right - Pug wins)
Or pumping (Pug's right - Roakey wins)

Before i post the winner, i would like to to let the competitors know i accept bribes. i could use a nice new DUI CF200, question is how much do you need to be the winner?

TMJ :)

i called down there to get it straight, heres the scoop:

LDS states they have a booster and can fill to 3000 if i like. On my first call he said they transfill, now he says he can boost it. He knew i was talking about argon fills both time, i made it clear. Wonder why he didnt just say "I can pump to 3000" why did he say 2640 transfill the first time.

Somethings fishy here. This is my old LDS i spent thousands at, and was screwed by them a few times. As much as i dont want to give them my business they are all i have to get argon fills.

Now seams how he claims they do both i will expect a CF200 from both of you, just to be fair of course:)

I see that you have turned into a serious jaw disorder...

Anyway... expectations inevitably lead to disappointment...
Especially in your case TMJ....

See the deal is...
With a wager both parties agree on it ahead of time....

So I was right and Roakey wins...
(A soft drink???? Did we agree on a soft drink???)

But at least you get your argon filled to the brim :D

I suspect they said 2640 because that's what an OMS 13cf steel would be filled to...
