I've made my own weight pockets for my cambands. I had an XS Scuba one and kind of used it as a pattern. I bought a yard of balistic nylon and a few feet of webbing from here -

and sewed them up. So far I've made 6 cam band pockets, 3 wetsuit pockets, and I've got about 1/3 of a yard left, so if you're handy with a sewing machine, you can save a bit of $$ making your own. My sewing skills are pretty minimal, about what I remember from 6th grade home-ec classes. :D

I don't know if this will help or not:
I've used a cam band and 4 one pound lead weights on a single 80 to help trim it and to take lead off my belt. I would guess it could be of some help with you as it was/is movable, it could very well be to high or not depending where you'd place it in relationship to the BC cam band.

I think I have found a solution. I will be working on it later tonight and will have pics.

It may not be the best in the world, but it will work until I get a sewing machine and get crazy making stuff like nwbrewer, I really wanna make some non-permanent wet suit pockets next :D

I tried something like this with a standard weight belt and hard weights. It seemed like it would work out pretty good except the weights scratched up my tanks so bad that I never got to try it in the water.

I'm uploading the pics right now for it. It didnt take all what I thought it would take to do it, so not to many pics.

Im curious to see what it does to my trim though, it moved 6 pounds up from my waist to right below my shoulders.

Ok here we go!! Not pretty but (hopefully) it will work. One concern I do have with it is that I used the existing steel clips that were on it when I got them. I only (up to this point) dive in freshwater springs, so I dont see this to be much of a problem short term. Once again, this is just a temperary rig until I switch over to bp/w set-up :D. Oh yea and this is not recommended for long term or saltwater diving. And no, this is not DIR-approved (its not black ;) ).

I got these from a Army/Navy surplus store for $1 a piece, I did have plans on modifying the backs of them to make the mounts a little sturdier, but I dont have access to a sewing machine. They seem to fit a 3 pound soft weight in them perfectly. And if that is too much weight, then I can just pull them out and put a 2 pound weight in is place. It did get 6 pounds out of my 14 total pounds off of my waist. So now I have 6 lbs up top and 8 lbs (ditchable) at the bottom. Anyways, here is the pics.

Side view mounted, as you can kinda see, they are mounted in the space between where the cam band goes from around the tank to behind the backplate. There is a small gap in the area that keeps the metal clip from scratching up the tank (not that this tank is still all new and purdy :)

Any suggestions on making this set-up better? Anyone thinking that I need to just scrap that idea and just spend $20 on the xs pouches?
