I am not providing medical advice, but just something to consider when vacationing.

I'd like to add one comment that may apply to almost everyone.

If you are on a vacation and let yourself go a bit too much and drink alcoholic beverages
a bit more than usual, please note that alcohol does RAISE your blood pressure more than you might think.
BP increases directly proportional to the amount of alcohol consumed; viz. more alcohol presents higher blood pressure, but not necessarily 1:1.

Also, binge drinking (Binge drinking means four or more drinks within two hours for women and five or more drinks within two hours for men) such as having a bunch of celebratory margaritas upon arrival to Cozumel etc., can have longer lasting effects of higher blood pressure as opposed to spreadling that same amount of drinks over a full day.

I was diving with a friend that "celebrated" too heavily.
Before the trip, he was a 120/80 type of guy.
The morning after binging, he was 170/105.

I am not saying "Do Not Drink", but I am saying
"Please consider the effects of your alcohol consumption, including your BP, if you are also planning to go diving."

I'd forgotten all about making this post. By the time I was able to find a new doctor (mine retired) my BP had risen to 150/108. My GP had to place me on a combination of a couple of drugs to get my BP down to a reasonable level. It now hovers around 140 / high eighties to very low nineties and my GP is satisfied with these levels. Would be lower if it weren't for my love of red wine and bourbon (separately!) lol.

Thanks again to all who responded, even those who are against seeking medical advice on a forum.
