Fire me a DM and I am happy to share the local info I have.I'm temporarily relocating to the area for a few years and definitely looking forward to exploring, including Deception Pass.
Took me too long to realize DM was direct message. I was wondering what divemaster you wanted fired....Fire me a DM and I am happy to share the local info I have.
While DP has been dived by some for many years, I would not recommend it publicly due to a tight combination of objective and human factors.
This book: Northwest Shore Dives book by Stephen Fischnaller is outSTANDING for shore diving in the PNW, despite being last printed, literally, a quarter of a century ago (2000). Cannot over-recommend this book. Some of the info isn't really relevant anymore (mileage from Olympia, directions, etc) in this age of GPS, but it is clearly a labor of love and it immediately became my Puget Sound bucket list of dives. Great suggestion, Orcas! If you can find a copy of the out-of-print book "Northwest Shore Dives" by Stephen Fischnaller, he describes many shore diving sites...
Not yet, but hopefully this summer. There are three wrecks on the south end of the Island I want to dive. Just the logistics of getting me and the boat and extra tanks on the ferry is a bit daunting.Anybody dive Lopez Island? I'm going to be there at the end of June and I see there's a couple of parks that may have accessible shorelines.
Why take the boat on the ferry? It's not a long motor over. Not yet, but hopefully this summer. There are three wrecks on the south end of the Island I want to dive. Just the logistics of getting me and the boat and extra tanks on the ferry is a bit daunting.
