I have to go to Puerto Rico next week to pick up my son from the sailing camp. I’m there for five days, but I have to pick him up right in the middle of it. Normally, I would definitely dive, but it’s a funny schedule, and not super conducive to a full day of going out, especially if it’s not out the front door. That said, are there any absolute must dives to do while there? Staying two nights in San Juan, and three near the rainforest jungle. I was just diving last week in the sea of Cortez, so I’ve got my fix and would be content doing waterfalls, and checking out the interior of Puerto Rico, unless you all think there’s something really worth getting underwater for.

Edit: I should also say that I’m open to any other suggestions or advice on the island aside from diving as well. Thanks!

Out of Fajardo, the dive shops will go to the NOAA reef nursery. That was pretty cool. I do not recall the name of the shop that I used, but I would ask if they offer this option on their dives.

I have not done it, but I heard that trips to Culebra can be worth it. I have not been able to get out there because the few times I have dove in PR, the weather was not cooperating.
