Greetings,

I will be working in the Coco Beach region next week. Since I’ll have some down time between work obligations was looking for a descent dive shop.

Cheers

I'll beat him to the answer. :D

Try the Fishing & Diving Center in Cape Canaveral (just North of Cocoa Beach)

Yup! That's the closest one to Cocoa Beach. They sell Oceanic. American Divers Int'l is on Merritt Island who sells Aqualung and ScubaPro. Then you have Sea Dragons in Rockledge who sells Dacor & Dive Rite. Going south you have Sea Level Scuba who sells ScubaPro & Halceon... Finally, you have Hatts who sells ScubaPro and Sherwood.

My preferrence? Sea Level... Oh.. yeah... I teach there.. I guess I'm kinda tainted...

Sea Dragons seems to have a lot of Aeris equipment, too. Which means they might sell Oceanic as well? (It's the same company.)

Sorry Folks,

After reading my own post, I can understand the confusion. Since I already own all the gear I can wear, I would like to secure recommendations for a local dive shop which conducts 2-4 dive charters.

Cheers

Well, since no one else has responded yet, I'll give you a heads up. There aren't really any charters out of Port Canaveral or Sebastian. I think your best bet is to drive south to at least Jupiter (~100 miles). There is some beach diving closer to you though. It's not bad around Ft. Pierce. Some people say the Vero beaches are good, but I have yet to be there when the viz was acceptable.

Where do people beach dive around Cocoa Beach? I have a tentative trip to that area next month and would like to get in a dive or two (weather permitting). Anyone have first hand experience of the area and/or dive conditions? Thanks!
