I am going down to Port Aransas over spring break and was wondering if there was any diving down there other than the clipper and rig diving. I would love to go out on the rigs but I don't spearfish and don't think there would be much to do, but I may be mistaken. I would be willing to drive down to Port Isabel or anywhere in between too.
Thanks

IMO you are mistaken. My first trip out to an oil rig, I couldn't even shoot any fish because there were so many and such variety, I didn't know what to shoot at!

I agree with Shaggie. I have been on two rig trips and they are awesome. (I don't spearfish either.)

Remember...even if you aren't fishing, you are still diving!

Glad to hear that, I will have to find someone going out there while I'm down there. Is the water temp. right now worth the drysuit or could I get by with a thicker wetsuit?

What are some of the dive ops you guys recommend for rig diving or any other kind of diving out there?

You can find a thread on one of those trips here. Unfortunately the link to the pictures is broken and I do not have a good replacement.

However, the video that I posted from the trip can be found here.

Still ranks as the best dive I have recorded yet.
