All,

I've just got back in the water after a bad accident and I'm trying to plan a holiday to Egypt in October/November for me and a mate.

I've dived in Hurghada before about 10 years ago and it was amassing, however I've heard reports that it's not so great now -opinions please.

I'm looking at live aboards for a week or two that supply Nitrox facilities and whose itinerary will cater for the shallow dives that I'm restricted to and the deeper dives that my friend will no doubt want to do - any suggestions, good companies, bad companies etc.

Thanks in advance - Dave.

Just got back last week from a week liveaboard. We flew directly into Marsa Alam which is about 4 hours south of Hurgada.

The liveaboard was the Rosetta and we sailed the southern route which took us into the St Johns reef areas.

It was excellent diving, excellent crew, and a great time.

We are definitely going back and I would recommend the boat to anyone. Two Zodiacs in the water at all times when the divers are out, Nitrox, all cabins with toilet and shower, all with air con, very good dive guides.
