If it was mostly great years and a couple of bad ones it's a plus. If on the other hand it is just regarded as 20 years neither party will ever get back, it not so much a plus, unless they are into misery and despair.Back in the mid 80s, after being certified in college, I flew down to visit my sister in Florida...she was certified too, and we spent a weekend in the Florida Keys. She met a guy on the dive boat, long story short they were together about 20 years but they're now divorced so I'm not sure how much that one counts.
Hey, we met when the local dive season ended and are getting to know each other. We will dive together soon.actually, you guys are funny, 2 divers who are dating, but haven't dived together yet, that is a new one
Sounds like a great pairing!!!when i came on sb in 05, da aquamaster (larry) had been here a while. i settle in here & have a ball, and find great mentors & learn to dive. of course i notice him - he posts a lot! - but not in *that* way.
then, a few years later, hmm...we *do* notice each other 'that way'! we pm a while, then email, then phone, then decide to meet in morehead for some dives. he swears he fell in love while i was puking off the back of the boat.
we took full cave together. he's a wonderful buddy & a wonderful guy. he loves my baby. we're moving in together this summer.
Holy crapola, now ya tell me....I'm as marriage phobic as they come.they aren't here much currently, but charlie j & khagar (charlie & kristi) met here on sb, met in real life, began dating, charlie moved from nc to wv, and they got married.
two former mods, suthnbelle & oe2x (mel & jock) got married after meeting here. she moved from nc to washington state.
so yes, sb can lead to matrimony! be careful!
This is my second SB relationship, both were and are long distance relationships, this one is at least in the same time zone.Did you guys live near each other in the beginning? I know a few new couples who met on SB and are doing the long distance bit.
Who?I am not going to name names They will post if they want to . . . .
Yes, we did get married on the boat. My dive buddy, a lawyer with her notary stamp, performed the ceremony. Captain Tony borrowed the "uniform", white shorts and white shirt, complete with epaulets, to play the part of the LoveBoat captain. My friends helped to decorate the boat, and I selected some reggae/jazz love songs, played by Beres Hammond. It was quite the informal wedding.
And, for the reception, a couple of months later, we had a catered beach bar-b-que, for about 100 or so friends and family. What fun that was!

ok, this just one couple that inspired my public inquiry . . . don't they just make your little hearts go pitter patter?
They are here on SB, can anyone guess who they are?
It's Marian and Dave (Hislovelybride and Teamcasa)!!!!
They are super sweet to be around, giving me cavities EVERY time!!!
Diving is supposed to be fun, right?
Marian and I frequently go hand-in-hand - but some how I seem to blow through more air than her...Hmmm.
To me, life just doesn't get any better than diving with my lovely bride.
Are you gonna tell everyone how you both met or is Marian going to do the honors?
She can tell it. I exaggerate too much But here's a taste...It all started at the NHRA WinterNationals, a race car and and the a chick passing out.
