During Thanksgiving weekend I noticed some guys diving out by Point Panic, I didn't know anyone goes there. Has anyone been diving there, how was it?

I think onfloat sometimes does shore dives out that way. Not sure if he swims out to the pipe only, or if there are also things to see closer to shore.

Onfloat, and I did two dives at Point Panic on the 13th. We surface swim out to the can buoy drop down then go to the end of the pipe and back in on the edge of the channel to Kewalo basin. There is quite a bit to see.

It's a swim but not so bad.Plenty of life past 20 feet or so. Two entrances/exits make for a drifting shore dive.

how far is the swim to the buoy?

100 yards?

Felt like quarter mile!

A bunch of us dived from Diamond Head stairs out...dropped down to the end of the pipe, then current swept us Ewa, so we came out the Ewa stairs.

Nice dive.

Did anyone else hear weird mechanical sounds on that dive? Like machinery? Is that noise coming from the UH experiments Ewa of the pipe?

Just wondering.

I believe it felt like a quarter mile because I am all but 260#... :(
