Yes.Are we forgetting that the deceased was a willing party to the deception from the get go? Had it been one of his buddies instead of himself, wouldn't it be likely that he'd have "lied" as well?

Even if they aren't prosecuted for the unintentional death and perjury they should face consequences for diving on protected wrecks- which they apparently do quite often. "Screw the law and the fact that it's a dedicated mass grave, we're going diving!".
This seems needlessly vindictive. Even if they'd confessed, his body still might not have been recovered any sooner, and even if it was, I'm sure the family still would have grieved his loss.
Furthermore if they were doing that regularly, the family may well have known it was a different wreck. Possibly since the planning stage.
It would have likely been recovered right away. There was a search party that was literally diving the wrong wreck shortly after the accident. We also won't ever know if he could have been saved if help had been called immediately instead of after a couple of hours and to the wrong area.Esprise Me:Even if they'd confessed, his body still might not have been recovered any sooner
Well, you can just accept that you were assuming too much. What the family have said in public/social media suggests the lies and deceit put them through hell and getting to the truth was massively important for them. It doesn't seem like they have much sympathy for the other divers either.Esprise Me:Perhaps I'm also assuming too much in hoping his family's reaction toward his friends would be more generous than yours.
Unfortunatly If he told you, he would have to kill you.Where are you getting this information?
Media, social media, dive forums, the usual. This case was rather widely discussed in Poland - both 7 years ago and recently, so information is available. To make your life easier (or harder depending on how well google translation turns out) you can start here:Where are you getting this information?
Was that a very German attempt at humour?
The wreck is closed regardless of the accident as a war grave. It's an agreement between Poland and Germany. Baltictech divers who found him had a permit.no one wanted to find the body so the wreck does not get closed again.
