NO Eagles...NO eagles..but who didn't know that?? Can't complain though cause we saw everything else imaginable on the dives today. Weather is great. Water temp 79..comfortable in 3mm full length. Got up close and personal with a big hawksbill eating some coral. He sure had some nice eyes :).It's great to be back on the island again.

Like Kermit said, It's not easy being green! Home in NJ.
Stayed at Hotel Coz, AI, never any complaints about the place, the staff or the other guests. It felt like stealing for the price lol.
Dove with Deep Blue, nice operation-got in Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed. 4 for 6, no complaints.
Saw a bunch of eagle rays, a couple squadrons and a few singles, we were in a sand patch at Barracuda and just hung as they swam past effortlessly, against the strong current- incredible. Also saw the standard assortment of turtles, some nurse sharks, sea horses on Cedral, (always a nice dive), a few toadfish.
Saw two reef sharks at Palancar caves. The ones we saw were not Bulls tho, pretty neat watching them buzz around fast hunting.
I don't care who you are, your heart speeds up a bit when you see sharks swimming fast towards you.
Dove Punta Sur with (surprisingly) almost no current, plenty of pesky lionfish tho, due to the depth and dove less often I guess. I think the Punta Sur/ Columbia coral formations are just so darn impressive!
Anyway, as always, a great trip, excellent diving and no major mishaps. Now I need to start planning my next trip!

Keep the faith Pidge! With all the sightings recently, you're just got to see one!! Either that, or they've gotten together and decided to hide and mess with your head ;)

e!! Either that, or they've gotten together and decided to hide and mess with your head ;)

You've got that right...they always mess with me:( Gonna go to Barracuda and park my butt in the sand until they swim by..probably gonna take a few tanks of air though and that's if I finally get lucky :)

Here's a vid I shot last Tuesday on Paso de Cedral.

The pool opened yesterday at noon, so we got in two dives after lunch, Santa Rosa Wall and Tunich all the way over and ended up on Yukab. Both dives over an hour, and even with only a one hour SI, we did at least 30 mins of the last dive in twilight. Fortunately, I'd left the bag-o-lights with the gear after we came back from Dos Ojos, so I passed them around and everybody was lit up. I made a mild boo-boo. I dive with an Aeris XR1-NX as backup and a Suunto Stinger as primary. With the short SI and long dives, I dropped down to get a picture and put myself into deco. Not a big deal. The Aeris said I still had time. So I did 10 mins at 10' and still had 800+ PSI.
