Finally made the plunge! Will miss Pidgiepoo at the Iberostar this year, but you can add me and my non diving wife Dec 3-10 staying and diving at Blue Angel. Change is good, but she is worried about not staying at an all inclusive. Anyone had a non diving spouse stay at Blue Angel and their thoughts?

I've stayed at non-all-inclusive Casa Del Mar with my non-diving wife a few times, just like I will be doing in 3 weeks. She soaks up rays on the "beach" while I dive. She's fine with that. YMMV. One thing you may consider is doing less boat diving and more shore diving. That way you're not gone from 8 AM til 1 or 2, and you get to spend your surface interval together. I like the shore diving at CDM, and I like that I can dive at my own pace. I hear the shore diving at BA is similar.

We will miss your first plunge into the "cold" water. Kris and I decided to try someplace closer to town. Read a lot of good reviews about Blue Angel, so we will give it a try. It will be her first non AI. The get togethers sound like a good idea! Have never eaten outside the Iberostar. Especially if "all the best people" are going on cv's dime
