We've loved our trip to Cabo, the sea and the countryside were beautiful and the diving was different and wonderful and the people were really nice, but the reports of increasing violence are something to consider.
In the past on SB we've discussed the issue of "local-on-local violence" and whether or not it should be a factor when making a decision about travel destinations. @Skeptic14 did some research and posted data showing that the overall murder rate of a country does reflect the number of murdered US tourists, see the link below.
Again the numbers are small, and bad things can happen anywhere, and using common sense is always a good rule to follow, but I don't think we can just say "no tourists were involved" in a violent situation and assume that there is no danger.
