I've been researching HID dive light makers and going through a lot of the past threads regarding the quality of th products available in preparation for a buying decision, clearly Salvo seems to be very well liked as well as Sartec, I've read of issues inherant to Dive Rite and their use of the Welch-Allyn HID bulb as it is said to be lacking in impact resistance. Looking on Dive Rites web site I see they are using the Welch Allyn Solarc bulb ,which they claim is an improved impact resistant bulb. Is this a differant bulb than they were using in the past and does anyone have any personal verification that this is indeed an improvement and how does this bulb compare in quality to the Brightstar bulb used by Salvo and others. Also I had read complaints of Dive Rite using an inferior Goodman handle, Has this issue been addressed also as the one viewed on their site looks to be metal and pretty solid except perhaps for the plastic or bakelite piece in the center.
thanks
Robert
