Yeah that kind of stuff happens all over the NE coast and others I'd wager. The channel at Galilee can run in both directions at the same time at different depths, common at FTW also when going around the outside point. Usually cove, channels and similar areas deflect the water. Potter Cove is in an area where the bay narrows some. Also we've had rip tide warnings this past week so the tides were screwy anyway. Also noticed a very narrow moon last night so it was probably a new moon during that time. Even the most mundane sites can be interesting at times.
