Dive Report: Pensacola Beach, FL (Jacobi Reef) 09-08-08

I think after looking at some pictures from the pensacola news journal that some more of the reef will be uncovered. check out this pic:

I tried Pensacola Beach today. 9-15-08. I figured, yellow flag, what the hell. My first 5 seconds in the water I was sucked out into the ocean, couldn't see past my mask and didn't know which way was up. I think I'll wait a few more days. Anybody know when HWY 98 to Destin will be open?

I had heard it opened the day after Ike, so that would be several days now.

I checked out Pensacola Beach this morning (friday) around 7am. Yellow flag again. This time I stayed in my truck. HaHa. I was excited to check out the pier rubble. Oh well. Hopefully it calms down for tomorrow. I'll check again tonight and post it.

I can't wait to revisit my old spot too! It's been a year since I've dove there.
