I got up at 3:30am Saturday morning but as usual didn't get on the road until 30 minutes late. I was suppose to leave at 4:00am and left at 4:30. Unfortunately, trying to make up that 30 minutes on the way cost me a speeding ticket in the park at St Andrews about a block from the parking lot to the jetties. My free jetty diving wound up costing me $183.00 for going 43 in their 25 mph park. Lesson learned...when they say strictly enforced, they mean it...
However, after that setback it was a great two days of diving. It was a pleasure to dive with Snep, KchFla and Seayoda again. It was nice to meet Captn Grumby. Along with Andy and myself, the 6 of us hit the water for the first dive at 9:38 for a whopping 65 minute dive with a max depth of 33 and an avg depth of 15. The vis wasn't what it was the last time I was at St Andrews but it was a fun dive and Kchfla pointed out an octopus under a rock which was the first one I have ever seen!! The second dive started at 11:30 after a 45 minute SI and this time Kchfla decided to call it a day and Andy couldn't clear his ears so he didn't make it down. This time, we went in the opposite direction and went a bit deeper for a dive lasting 48 minutes with a max depth of 68 and an avg of 44. SeaYoda and Captn Grumby called it a day after that and Clay, Kathy and Shelby, Andy and I went to the Captain's Table that afternoon for a great meal.
The next day Andy decided to just play in the water so Clay and I did two dives. The vis was worse than the day before but I still enjoyed the diving. We hit the water at 9:07am and had a 47 minute dive with a max depth of 59 and an avg of 30. We began the second dive after a 45 minute SI and hit the water at 10:41am. This dive was 32 minutes with a max of 68 and an avg of 50. Like Clay said, after another great day of diving we hit Sally's on the way home and had some great food!!
Thanks everyone who participated and made this a great weekend that Andy and I really enjoyed!!

Sounds like a nice weekend! Thanks for the reports.

I would've liked to have joined you guys but I had too much to do to go out there. My Sunday morning beach dive got canceled due to reports of lots of jellies.. so for the first weekend since March I didn't dive! so sad..

So, I have found SB again!

I had great dives but would have loved better viz for the pictures. Lots of particulate matter in the water. Capt. Grumby found some big grouper in shallow water that I tried to get pics of. He also found a Goliath hiding in the rocks at about 16'. It seems like many people know he lives there because his home is draped with fishing line that kept tangling in my strobe arms. I played a long game of hide and seek with Mr. Goliath. I would approach in one hole and he would swim out another and wait for me. When I got my rig untangled and swam around the rock to get his picture, back into his hole he went. I sucked up a lot of air and still didn't get any great shots of this guy. He was as big as a dinner table with a huge mouth! Here are the pics that are recognizable from both dives:

Great pics, considering conditions. Definately liked the scamp, pigfish, mangrove, and arrowcrab shots.

Edit: ...and the Goliath and Hogfish!

Those pics make the vis look way better than it was...great job!!

We're gonna kick your butt RM...:D
I'll try harder next time to make it...

After viewing SeaYoda's pics I feel even worst that I didn't make it.

Nice pictures SY. I knew you were going to show me up.

I like your pictures Clay....so cute...:blinking:
