The thicker-blooded of us (Myself, Frankc420 & mwhities) stayed behind after everyone else left and made a third dive. We pretty much dove the plan for dive #3 that I posted earlier except we covered a little more distance and bottom time.

Entry Time: 3:25 PM
Bottom Time: 40 Minutes
Max Depth: 49

Entered at east deck and swam west along the north wall past the west deck. Visited both firetrucks and camper, returned along same route past an old car. We still had plenty of air and bottom time so we continued east past our original entry point for a few minutes then decided to turn around and go back to the deck where we completed a 5 minute safety stop. I love diving out there that time of the afternoon. The sun's angle is just about right and you get a lot of shimmering effects and also the fish seem to be really active this time of day.

Enjoyed meeting everyone, diving and the dining afterwards.
Thanks to Clay & his wife Kathy for hosting us. I know we are all looking forward to the next one. Perhaps we can go south and meet at Morrison's and Vortex and make a 2 day weekend of it!

You are welcome. Thanks for coming.

You can start that thread about Morrison's. I like the idea of maybe a couple of dives on a Sat in the PC jetties, Then a couple Sunday on the way home at morrisons to rinse. I love diving PC jetties.

Instead of PC Jetties, lets do Destin Jetties. Waters in Destin are supposed to be clearer and I haven't dove them! :D Morrison can be a pain in the arse since it's dependent on the river levels...

Michael and myself have dove the Pensacola Pier (the old one thats rubble), and it has quote a bit of life on it! It's also an easy dive, right off the beach, vis last time was about 15-20 feet. And, warm water :D

I think a good plan would be to dive the jetties on saturday, drive up to vortex to camp, and dive morrison and vortex on sunday.

Now for the OFFICIAL Version of the dive report!!
We had a blast!! There were 11 divers there from the Deep Dixie Gang and this bunch knows how to dive and party! Yes, we all suited up and got in that freezing cold water of 53F in 39F air temp after a couple of the guys knocked us a hole in the ice large enough to enter the water:D . We dove fearlessly to a depth of 84' and checked out the sights and we refused to surface until the lack of air in our tanks forced us to return to the surface to get more. We were sorely disappointed when we were informed that the compressor was not working properly and ABWA could not refill tanks. Andy and I had brought two tanks each with us and so we sacrificed our second tanks and offered them to our fellow gang members so that they could go on a second dive. Andy and I took all our gear off, rinsed it, stowed it and got warm. Someone (we won't name names) brought some hot chocolate (secret family recipe, the secret being that the secret ingredient warmed you way more than the hot chocolate;) ) and I drank some and hugged the attendant's neck that said he couldn't fix the compressor so we couldn't dive anymore:D ....only to discover a little while later they indeed did fix the compressor(the attendant graciously apologized) but because of the contents of the secret family recipe, for reasons BEYOND my control, I was only able to make the ONE dive.

Andy and I went and got our hotel room and made our way to Clay's where we were treated to wonderful food and hospitality. Clay, I really enjoyed meeting your wife and daughter. I know now that while we keep Clay straight while he is on Scubaboard, Tom aka Clay's daughter, keeps him straight while he is at home.:)

You guys I had a great time. It was so much fun to meet all of you that I aggravate all the time and I consider myself fortunate to find such great dive buddies and friends.:)

PM moi for the recipe. I'll make sure my cabin boy responds.

I can't believe that you are awake already.

I can't either. :)

And she calls herself a pirate..... jeshhh. ;)

I had fun and a great time diving with everyone, even IF the caption ONLY dove ONCE!

Someone had to stay topside with the bull whip:D

RocketMan:
My dive plan is usually something like this...
1. Arrive at dive site
2. Remember I forgot some gear, but really don't need those weights:D
3. Put gear together
4. Turn on air, always a good idea
5. Tell dive buddy to hurry up
6. Ok forget it I'll see you in the water
7. Get in water
8. Descend
9. Where's that dive buddy???
10. Never mine...I'm sure he's fine so I’ll just swim around some
11. Ascend...always do safety stop
12. Throw up
13. Get out of water
14. Where's that dive buddy???

Actually, RocketMan is very good at following his plan. Clay, me, Andy and RocketMan were buddies and I saw him before we got in the water and then I saw him a again after we had been out of the water a little while....I never actually saw him while we were IN the water:D
