Nice water there, Bob - vis thirteen feet?
Actually it was closer to 20 feet ... pretty good day ... :D

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

So...now that we have beaten on this "DIR divers: Deviations" thing.

Anyone notice anything.

A couple of solo dives...
Some trivial gear decisions. (many of which...might of been DIR at one point LOL)
Some trivial training procedures
and Standard gases.

Standard gases are one of the funny things about DIR. Most of DIR is about making the right Underwater choice over "the above water" choice......except Standard gases.

Other than have enough helium to beat back narcosis...not enough O2 to tox youself....the choice of standard gases has to do with convenience in gas mixing.

Take empty tank. add X of helium...top with 32% (other than the 30/30 stroke mix) and you are done.

The things that will kill you underwater (gas switches for instance) haven't changed.

And he wears his hood crooked too ... definite Rule 6 violation

*ouch* i think I'm busted...

bones should have caught that one... team failure...

well, standard gasses also have to do with avoiding the team having different deco schedules and turning deco into a huge solo diving project as well...

but you don't need GUE standard gases to do that, you just need team standards about gases and deco...

The standard could be "best mix". It just needs to be consistent across the team for that particular dive.

inflator hose outside the bungie, cuff dump, best mix... Where did you take fundies? The internet? :no

Well, best mix does throw more variables into the ability to compare deco results from dive-to-dive.

sea nmf:
Where are you headed with all that gear in Cove 2? Just practice or are you heading out to mid-bay? I bet that dive flag throws the ships quite a bit!

Line running along a 100 fsw contour north for 3,000-6,000 ft. The contour sweeps out offshore north of the duwamish head directly under the ferry lane... We don't tow floats out there...

do it easy:

yep. How did you guess?
