We decided on this last year. DIN is "better" :D

Yoke is supposedly easier to mount/dismount, but is not. And you will from time to time experience having the o-ring come off on the yoke. No biggie if you have spares.

I hardly ever say this, but you need to do a search - it's something that gets discussed at least once per month.

That said, DIN is a more secure conection and the 7 thread 300 Bar DIN valves are rated to 4350 psi, or obviously, 300 bar.

There are also 5 thread 3300 psi / 232 bar DIN valves that are convertible to yoke service with a screw in insert.

DIN valves are generally praised as having a "captured" o-ring where extrusion is less likely. However, a properly fitting yoke connection also has a fully captured o-ring, but yoke valves are more likely to be misaligned and, if the yoke is loose (or stretches under pressure) there is the potential for o-ring extrusion.

Yoke valves are also called International valves and are, somewhat obviously, much more common particularly in some of the more remote parts of the globe.

Generally speaking if you are a recreational diver, yoke is probably just fine. If you are a technical diver, DIN is generally preferred.
