I've got HP100's. they are great tanks.

but I wouldn't get them for an 11 year old. I know they are about the same size as an AL80 that he'd likey use as a resort rental tank in the caribbean, but for an 11 year old, I'd go smaller.

the steel 72 is a great option and can be used for years.

knowing how big he is would be a real help, how big he's probably going to get is good. No reason an 11yr old shouldn't be able at least carry an AL80, but depending on height he may need the short short tanks. HP80's would be real good..
