I am wondering if anyone knows of a device that allows you to essentially "tie off" to a mooring line / float ball? The reason is - if the current is strong, its darn hard to hold on while flapping in the water. I experienced some strong current this past weekend down in Boynton Beach - and this isn't the first time. I don't want to blow my safety stop, but its difficult holding onto the line.

I know a device is used for reefs (reef hook) - is anything available that clamps onto a rope line?

Thanks....

Or a spool. Either should work fine.

Rather than carry a separate Jon Line I just make a 5’ loop from my finger spool line clipped back to the spool around the line and it works just fine. If it’s a permanent mooring buoy line with a lot of growth on it check your line after you’re done for cuts and abrasion.
