They mine sea salt in the Himalayas,I think this rise/fall sea thing is not a recent event.Plate tectonics, distance from the sun, solar cycles, vulcanism seem to be established phenomena as well.
Ever if it was proven beyond all doubt that mankind was the single factor responsible there is no way you are gonna get most people on board with giving up AC in the south, heat in the north, meat, technology etc..nor will any such agreements be held by developing nations racing to adopt our standard of living.

You can however enact legislation to punish industries, classes of people and locations not supportive of your politics as well as funnel money to those who do in the form of green energy programs like we do now.

Of course it's former state employees - current employees discussing this would soon be former employees.

As far as common ground, I deal in provable facts. Such as having seawater in the streets of Miami Beach during a king tide. Nitpicking bull**** about how to polish that particular turd should be limited to speechwriters and not scientists writing technical documents.

You miss the point. If the article was true, the deniers would be on their soap boxes, beating their chests and saying "darn right we don't allow those shaggy haired tree hugging hippies to use precious tax dollars to further their left-wing communist agenda". But they aren't. Like it or not there are catch phrases that get push back and will cause a large percentage of the population (especially in Florida) to discount anything else in the particular document. The article was not about "scientists" writing technical documents. It was about public presentations explaining state policy. There is a world of difference.

I align most closely with what Steve_C pointed out.

No matter your politics, no matter what the root cause, if it can be shown that there is warming and subsequent sea level rise, then pretending that it does not exist is willful ignorance. Using the term "climate driver" seems like it's a form of pretending.

Unfortunately, I'm often reminded of the quote from Dr. King - Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. In this case the danger is that by not offending the current constituents, you help ensure that their grandchildren will be swimming to work in Miami.

You all care to state exactly what steps you support to mitigate the increase in sea levels.Maybe some peer reviewed science showing quantifiable results?

Hand wringing and finger pointing like name calling do nothing to engender goodwill with a populace starting to get dulled by all the climate and weather dour predictions not coming to pass and leery of government interventions on their behalf in that area.

They will be regardless of whatever we do to address climate and sea levels. As long as the world continued to overbreed, we are screwed.

Move to the mountains and/or buy a large sailboat.

... it does appear to be true that the catch phrase "global warming" is not used in state documents. Maybe that's just finding common ground. If you say "global warming" or even "climate change", you're going to get some push-back. ...

Well, geez. Why restrict ourselves to just one state agency? All of them issue reports containing environmental language.

This is just a little bureaucratic massaging. All issues need it. It's not like this will end up on the front page of the Herald.

Front page: Gov. Rick Scott’s ban on climate change term extended to other state agencies

"Employees from the Department of Transportation, Department of Health and South Florida Water Management District say they were told not to use ‘climate change’ and ‘global warming.’ Gov. Rick Scott denies the allegations. ... (more)"

Fla. scientist told to remove words ‘climate change’ from study on climate change - The Washington Post

As to the first portion of your statement ... what planet are you living on where sitting political leaders have the guts to say exactly what they think to a bunch of chummed-up reporters? Especially when it comes to allegations they ham-handedly tried to shut people up?
