dental fillings - any problems?

hey

just wondering how many of you out there have fillings and have had no problems diving and how many of you have had tooth related problems with diving?

yes, that one i was more interested in the phsics behind the issue, this thread was simply out of curiosity. and answers appreciatedd

A proper filling has no air spaces and is not effected when diving.

I've got 11 fillings and I've never had a problem. I was worried about it for my very first dives. For what its worth, my dentist said I have good "conservative" fillings.

If there is a big enough air pocket in a filling it could crack the tooth but I have only heard of that happening once in the last 40+ years of diving.

I have plenty of fillings, root canals and crowns to keep my dentist happy in beer money.

Never had an issue with tooth squeeze.

Lots of fillings here (gonna get some more tomorrow) and two root canals pending crowns. Not a problem.

Yes, I experienced problems on descent because of decay under an old crown. See my thread from a few years ago.
