What a tough job. Thanks for being willing to be a public servant. Were you able to verify the contents of the barrels?

The barrels were located quite a distance from the shoreline. If the father did this terrible deed, he did not have enough time to acquire a boat and/or barrel to get it out there that far. Also, the image indicated that the barrels were there for some time because they were sunk into the muck better than 50%. The time frame would not have allow for that kind of settling.

You came off very well on the news. Thanks for the above explanation.

Glad you have some gear to help you more effectively search. Be safe and thanks again for your service.

Thank you, and I loved diving Lake Jocasse a couple of years ago. I dove on the Chinese Junk wreck (at least that what Tim, the guide, called it)

yep it is called the Chinese Junk. It is a fun lake to dive and accommodates dives of all levels from noobs to deep tech. You are welcome back anytime! We would love to have you.

I took a CERT course a couple of years ago and the LEO that taught it showed us footage someone had shot of a recovery of two children who feel through the ice here. We watched it unfold in real time. It gave me a great deal of respect for PSD's Even though we knew how it ended before it started, it was just the hardest thing to watch. The guys were diving wet under ice fighting that golden hour. He talked about the dive itself, but also what it did to him and how hit made him feel afterward. He wasn't a rookie cop at the time either.

My thoughts and prayers are with those looking for the boys. I suspect they sort of know what they will find, but still nothing can prepare them for the shock and horror of it. And just because the recovery is done, doesn't mean it has left those who made it. Hugs to all those who serve and protect.
