Is the first stage similar to the MK5?
The Deep 6? Not so much. The Deep 6 is a balanced diaphragm, the MK 5 a balanced piston

I never took mine in. I just tuned it way down with adjustment knob. My real issue with the Hollis rig was the build quality from a longevity stand point and annual service cost. I have had a chance to put a couple dives on my new Deep 6 regs and it is seriously night and day. Not to mention the 2ND stage regulator feels solid! A couple of little things I've noticed are the ease of screwing the DIN into the tank. I think the PVD coating acts as a lubricant because it is so smooth and the metal wheel is much nicer. The adjustment knob is also metal and has a positive stop for all the way in and out. The hollis was hard to feel if it was all the way open through thick gloves because you had to feel for the clicks. I have 0 buyers remorse or sellers in regards to selling my Hollis set.

That's cool and really all that matters. One of my buddies here has a D6 set for his doubles and really likes them. If you could get them without orange on them, I would definitely consider them, if I needed any regs. But, I HATE orange....

Anyway my Hollis set is over 2 years old. I haven't ever had them serviced as they have shown no signs yet of needing it. They still look and work like new. I like how light the 2nd stage feels in my mouth. But, I digress....

That orange......

I thought orange was the new black?

we have black as well..Orange sells better

The black option is pretty slick looking. Maybe @cerich can get a blacked out purge if the little orange accents bother you that much! I'm sure he can at least hit it with a sharpie for you!

The "black" still has orange accents.

They do. It's okay, though. I don't see needing more regs very soon. When I step up to diving with 2 deco cylinders, I'll probably just re-purpose my single tank regs (the Hollis) for that on an as-needed basis. :)

That's good because I was REALLY unlikely to order the 1000 new covers (MOQ) for a no orange one .

Did you eliminate one of the three cover colors you had at the beginning?
