I have a Dacor extreme purchased in '94 and was happy to see that Mares extended their upgrade program since no Dacor parts are available anymore. The upgrade is that they will sell me either a Mares Prestige 12 for $200 or a Voltrex 22 for $300. Fine. Except that I found the Voltrex for sale at Scubatoys for $265!! The Prestige which is a lower line of reg sells for $350......what's the deal!?

You would think that it wouldn't matter what reg you buy from them as long you paid for the difference. Why limit those who have them to a lesser reg?

DACOR REGUALTOR UPGRADE PROGRAM-- New Horizons Diving

I can't say for sure, but I think that Scubatoys has it for that price because MARES has now discontinued the Voltrex 22 from their current lineup of regs.

*New Horizons Diving is just making themselves available for people to do the trade-in program with them because we have heard of numerous MARES dealers who don't even know the program exists. I agree that it is not the best trade-in program ever conceived and that the Voltrex 22 should either not be in it or it should be at a lower price, but unfortunately neither is the case.
