Oh sure we all have rights to opinions. Goes without saying I thot...

Certainly we all have the rights to our own opinions. They should be expressed in a much more friendly, adult and kind and respectful manner. Yeah, yeah I realize that they are going to flame me for calling them childish et al but thats ok, I can take it! Deb offered and explanation and a suggestion about the taxi and van situation at the airport. She lives there and knows firsthand how things work. What she got back from a few was rude and childish. I think comparing prostitutes to Debs take on the taxis put that contribution way over the edge.
FWIW...the margaritas are marginal but defiantly worth having while I wait for either my van or my friend to pick me up at the airport!!

I tried to accept their mustard on ham sandwiches but failed - much too hot, but loved their beers. The were afraid of my hat tho. The Dallas show was popular.

Wait, what???? You don't put mustard on ham sandwiches? Are you a communist???? :rofl3:

RE: scooters in Coz, having been there a few times and driven a rental car each time, I have observed the local scooter population up close and personal. Back here in the non-ocean part of the world I commute through city and highway traffic 20 miles each way on a motorcycle just about every work day, and I feel that is much more dangerous than what I've seen on Coz, but still within my acceptable risk limit. I would have no reservations riding a scooter on the island. The only reason I don't is because I don't feel like schlepping all my gear down there. I'm not afraid of their traffic (everyone except the tourists knows what they're doing), but I don't get on 2 wheels without a helmet and my aerostich. Skin grafts are no fun!

I will state for the last time I don't care if people use the vans or not it is simply my right to state what I prefer to do on my visits without recourse.
The controversy did not come from anyone's personal choice of transportation, but from the referring to the taxi union as the "mafia" and the implication that by using the vans or taxis (those of us who do) we are participating in something nefarious. It's their country and the rules that they have worked out for themselves. When in Rome, etc. The link to prostitution is ridiculous, but even so, here in the States we have Nevada. :D

I am done with this particular forum,so you guys can continue to flame each other without my comments.I have enjoyed the different opinions stated by all members. As far as the "Mafia" comment went,I think Deb explained very well about the strong arm tactics of the Coz taxi union.

Flaming? You've got to be kidding. Take a look at Usenet (if Usenet still exists) if you want to see what flaming actually is. But, whatever, as you say, all of us are free to express our opinions, even if they disagree with you.

Or me. :D
