Custome user titles?

Just curious... from the FAQ, User Titles are as follows:

0 - 24 : New Member
25 - 49: Junior Member
50 - 499: Regular Member
500 - 999: Senior Member
1000 - 4999: ScubaBoard Veteran
5000+: ScubaBoard Guru

Some users have titles not on this list, such as "Dive Instructor" or "Webmaster" or whatever. Is this a hold-over from a previous version, or is it a customizeable feature? Or do I need to know the right people ?

Some users are a part of extra groups and have opted to use a custom title; other users are on the club or mod team which gets them another set of user titles as well.
