Work dives on Sat and Sun featured vis of almost 3 feet. Yesterday's work dive was easily twice that, 6 maybe even 8 feet of VIS! Once this plankton bloom passes, it should improve greatly. Sat and Sun was definitely a case of the Blind leading the visually disabled. It definitely improves your situational awareness, to work and play in the low vis.

Well, as good as it was on July 1st it was as bad yesterday. Still had a great dive. Spent my safety stop and ten minutes more under the dock with the kelp and schools of fish.

Great dive. Viz = 0 to 10'

Anybody hit Cove 2 today? Oh, my. I don't even know how to describe it. Let's just say that from the bottom of the orange and white buoy, in 55 fsw.......I could see the buoy on the surface. Down below, there was 30' of so of vis at 1PM. Had 2 great dives there this afternoon!

Nailer-

That is amazing. I was wondering what the vis would be like this weekend, bad last, cloudy most of this week, bigger exchanges now. I'm hoping that we are on the down side of the cycles that Grateful Diver described a while back . . . I'm hitting Sund Rock tomorrow.

Sweet! I love Sund rock- we had GREAT dives there last weekend- Do a night dive there, if possible- you won't be sorry!

Did a dive in Lake Washington this morning. Above 20 feet, vis was about 15-20 and the water temp was 73. At 35 feet, vis was 20-25 and the water temp was 56. At 80 feet, the water was basically clear and the water temp was 48.

Let's hope the Cove 2 vis stays good for a couple of days, at least ... I'm taking a deco day tomorrow, and heading up into the mountains to stretch my legs a bit ...

... Bob (Grateful Diver)

Did Les Davis and Titlow today -- Les Davis was interesting; viz about 10 - 15 feet at depth (30 - 60 fsw) but essentially completely opaque from the surface to five feet. Titlow had about 15 feet. It's snowing algae everyplace.

Had a terrific dive yesterday at Sunrise, my favorite shore dive in the Sound. Visibility on the wall was approaching 30 feet. The highlights: Five wolf eels, two big GPO's in dens, lots of ratfish, sculpins and painted greenlings everywhere, several clown nudibranchs, etc, etc...and the wall itself.

We're lucky to live near diving like that.

Redondo had excellent viz today. You could see the bug from the rock wall. It was amazing. I haven't had this good of viz in Puget Sound in months.

Redondo (last night) and Cove 2 (today) both had ridiculously good viz -- 40'+ by our accounts. Not too bad for my first dives in the Sound :) (in a 3 mil wetsuit I might add...)
