Awww, sorry to hear that Go West won't take visitors lionfish hunting. There are other shops on the island that will, and it is legal to bring short spears to the island to hunt lionfish. Unfortunately not everyone is understanding of how lionfish hunting tourism helps both the operators and the reef. We maintain a list of lionfish hunting friendly dive centers around the Caribbean and we have a couple of shops on Curacao that we know will allow it. As with most things, there are two sides to every story and things are not always black and white. The verdict may still be out on whether including lionfish hunting as part of dive operators taking out recreational divers on boat dives is a net positive for the marine environment, the recreational diver and dive experience or the diver operator.
