Kunk35 and I will be there, you're welcome to dive with us. John should be there too.

Can anyone that's been to CSSP lately tell me if there are any fish to be seen this time of year?!

There are always plenty of fish at CSSP to see all year!..and they just love Cheez Whiz...:eyebrow:

As to the CSSP Polar Bear event...$40 is just to pricey IMO.

Yeah, Kory isn't too happy about the $40.00 either, esp. since we have to pay it twice!:D

But, I figure if the vis is 15 to 20 feet, (I read somewhere on here that it was) and there are fish to see, it's worth the money to me. I haven't been diving since November, and this is the only day for a while that I am able to go. So...... at this point I'd probably pay even more for a nice dive!!

Besides, I keep telling him, it's only one dive, so no tank fills!

$40 for one dive!? Are they gonna warm up the water too?

Couldn't resist this one - the divers will warm up the water as they jump in and as a bonus their wetsuit will get warm too. (don't forget to flush)

I think that includes a t-shirt, and breakfast. Not absolutely sure, but from the way it reads on the website, that's the way it sounds.

But warming up the water sure would be nice........:D

Maybe they'll have hot towels, and cocoa!

Save $40.00 and join us at Mansfield Dam. Any change to the water temp will be by individual effort. However, we'll have a grill fired up so folks can bring food for after the dive.

Is there a gentleman cooking chili for the ocassion?

Well, I don't know if I can handle the $40 price tag to go and dive with a crowd and hear them yuk, yuk, yuk around on how cold the water is. Jeez!! It is still soft water, it can't be that cold. :)

I am gonig to check with the folks out at PK to see if they will be open, or at least grant us lake access on New Years Day. It has been a tradtion for me to go to PK and avoid the crowds and it is usually cheaper ($10?), with Scuba Point selling, this will be then end of an era.

Actually, I was out there last Sunday, water was 55F and 12-15ft vis. I will back out there again tomorrow, will give a report when we get back. I can't see the water droping below 48-50F by New Years. (BTW, checked the water at Lake Okoboji, air temp is 6F, water temp is 40F and has 8-10 inches of ice on it. At this rate it should be 18" thick by the time we go ice diving in Feb)
