Crash!!!!!!

for 3 days now sb has been painfully slow to load if it loads at all i know it is SB only because i have had no trouble elsewhere. Also am getting odd messages that do not let me even get into the site. when will this be fixed already!

Not sure if this will help, but when I try to post or surf the board, I ll get ooops boken link error messages. when google pulls up the cached page, that wont load properly.

Error "The server at www.scubaboard.com is taking too long to respond" for approximately 20 minutes today, around 6:00 Eastern time (roughly).

No problems with other websites at the time.

I have also had problems with (slow loading), (Google message link broken) and (site completely disappeared today mid post). No problems with any other site.

continued the problem over the past few weeks. I am on SB and go to read another forum and this is what I get:
Failed to Connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at www.scubaboard.com.
I am using a Mac and even try Safari when I can't get Firefox, same results. Happened again around 7m Pacific time

FWIW, it was reported in this thread that we're bumping up against the capacity limit of the database server. Wiser heads may know whether or not this explains all or some of the problems people are seeing.

My attempt at contributing information for those diagnosing the issue: When things fail, there's no page loading at all for a few minutes, and then everything comes back at once after which pages seem to load with their usual speed. Failure seems to be catastrophic rather than graceful, with pages seemingly loaded with something like their usual speed (although it's hard to tell) immediately before and after the failure. Server still responds to traceroute and ping.

I've seen it happen in the last few days as early as early afternoon and as late as near (past?) midnight, server time zone (North American Eastern). Would it help if people reporting problems specify the exact time?

I've been having problems for the last week or so also. Sometimes very slow or just never loads didn't note the error I just assumed the board was down those times.) I use Firefox.

The culprit was finally found today. One server banned the other! All of the load was going only to ONE server. It was resolved at about 10:00pm today, and the load balancing looks AWESOME.

Thanks for your patience as we worked through this one. We have hard coded the servers against this kind of snafu in the future.
