Cozumel in Caribbean?

I have heard many people tell me it's in the Yucatan Penisula, what's that? So is Cozumel in the Caribbean? Thanks and please excuse my ignorance.

Cozumel is an island in the Caribbean 12 miles off the Yucatan. It's about 40 miles due south of Cancun.

Because Mexico is part of North America...Not positive, but its not considered the caribbean - even though its in the vicinity..

The carribbean sea contains all the caribbean islands ? Im assuming thats the logic?

The same reason Hawaii is in North America>United States forum instead of the Pacific Islands forum. Country affiliation trumps location.

Maybe because there is absolutely no affiliation to the US? Kind of in the middle and nowhere to go?? I dunno

The Bahamas are in the Caribbean Sea, and the Turks and Caicos are British Dependent Territories, also in the Caribbean Sea. Where else would they go?

You are right, but they do us U.S. as their currency.
