Must have been post covid. As of Nov 2019 it was beautiful. Such a shame IMO

I didn’t see any music on the lawn but one night, same night the big group had a dinner out there. Music upstairs thurs - Saturday
They move the music up into the restaurant when there is rain in the area, but otherwise it is on what was the lawn. Usually Sunday and Monday are the only nights without live music; it has been this way ever since Turquoise closed.

Also should mention (off topic a bit) that La Perlita didn't have any lionfish when we went, and it wasn't a sold out issue. We saw very few lionfish on the reef, and know they are going deep so guess the supply just isn't there like it was. Other places advertised it but I was keeping my powder dry for the coconut crusted version with mango sauce....

...the coconut crusted [lionfish] with mango sauce....
You know that noise Homer Simpson makes when he thinks about donuts or beer?

I miss the grass as well, and the pool side shade. I was hoping by now they would either replace the grass or put down some turf. I’m sure the bands would appreciate as well. Agree with your DM report, Andy does a great job as does Marcos and Julio who were probably working with the big group. That being said, just booked for a March visit.

I don't think that real grass would be able to withstand the traffic.

The grass. Well, there was more grass before the storm and now there is much less. Grass does not like saltwater and it was killed in much of the lawn and then has difficulty with the foot traffic. Not just Blue Angle, but many places could benefit from porous concrete pavers that let grass grow through but also prevent mud. For example:

Things like that cost money and downtime. The place is going to need some renovation, we all know that but the BA is functional, nice and homy atmosphere, great genuinely friendly and caring staff, okay shore diving, they have always had a boat to get me to the reef and the DMs are great. I was in a large group, the trip just ending this past Saturday, so they had a most excellent large boat hired for us. Twin 300 Yamies, working (emergency) head and a nice captain and first mate.

Wow, you got a first mate. How many were in your group/ on your boat!

I agree, We keep going back, and cross our fingers. Were you with Marcos and Julio on the Big boat? Great guys! Do you remember the first mates name? A nice guy with kinda wild eyes? We call him El Diablo. Can't remember his real name. All the captains do a great job as well.
