I don´t know what it is about the word...I just really like the way it sounds...people do give you strange looks when you use it outside of a divingcontext though...to be honest even in a diving context you get looks...of course thats just gives me an excuse to use it a few more times as I explain it :))

Uh... whats a perchacuda

A viscious fish that lives in many fresh water lakes that attack divers aka perch, sun fish. They seem to especially like diver's ears.

On another thread (same subject) DandyDon provided this list:

and turnerjd added a few:

And, yes, I accidentally resurected that thread. Sorry.

On yet another thread Someone (sorry, forgot who) provided this link:

I particularly like their definition of bail-out bottle (1): A small bottle filled with your favorite beverage to hold you until your friends come to bail you out of the Cozumel jail.

DiverBuoy:
Stroke is a term that appears to have originated with the Woodville Karst Plains Project diving history and has ties to the early history of GUE (www.gue.com) and the DIR - Doing It Right diving philosophy.

The general idea is a stroke is wanna be diver who was sucking up or stroking the ego of one of the legendary founders of that group of divers. It has come to also associate with a diver who has the wrong attitidue toward diving (or one who is in disagreement with the philisophy of DIR). Other moch definitions translates as a buddy who might get you killed because of having the "wrong" training or lack of training. As a result some just translate it as "stroke" as in a heart attack waiting to happen.
It's nowhere near that complicated.

take the URL of my website in my profile and add "warhammer.jpg" to the end of it.

oh yeah: everyone doing so has been warned. posting clickable links to that picture is considered a violation of the scubaboard TOS and everyone constructing that URL does so with the understanding that they're venturing outside the TOS...

really i don't think its that bad, its more funny than gross... YMMV...

I learned WWW on here.. (Warm Water Wussy).. and am happy to report I are one.
