Ok, I have another question. I know AOI has been recommended here, but I'm in the EU. Would it not make sense for me to go with Isotta housing etc so that I can get it serviced by just sending it to Italy? If I need to get my AOI housing serviced, I would have to send it to the States or Asia, yes?

Or are the Isotta options (adaptors, ports, etc) limited?

I don’t know anything about Isotta so I cannot offer any good advice to you on this one.

I have shot the OM-D EM series in Nauticam and Isotta and now am shooting the OM-1 in AOI. All work well, costs will vary a bunch but am sure that AOI will be less $ than Isotta. If you are interested in shooting the 90 make sure that there is a port that allows you to switch modes underwater (Nau and AOI have one, don't know about Isotta). The Isotta red is really cool though.

Thanks Bill! Isotta is so pretty... but its a lot coin! I'm going for the AOI!

Having shot the AOI for more than 400 dives, I can say it has been great, no issues with the 30, 45, 60 and 90 macro and the 12-50 for moderate wide stuff. I don't shoot a lot of wide stuff but have some nice Manta shots with the 12-50. One thing though, in spite of being a plastic housing it is quite negative underwater; make sure you get some floats.

Awesome! Thanks Bill! :)
My AOI is on order and I can't wait to play with my new set up! Thanks for sharing your experiences! :)

Here is a shaun the sheep I shot yesterday in Komodo, Oly 30 macro lens, ring flash (athena) OM-1 AOI housing.

I have a question about the zoom gear for the Olympus wide angle 9-18 lens in the AOI housing for the OM1 - mark ii. Can my old Olympus zoom gear PPZR-EP02 work in the AOI housing for the OM1-mark ii? If not, which zoom gear do I need? The AOI specific one (LG-OM1-918)?
