Does anyone know whether the Conshelf 21 and 22 first stage can comfortably be configured with the HP port (with a transmitter) and inflator on the left shoulder and the two second stages on the right? I have a XIV and it doesn't seem to work that way. I know I can mount the transmitter on a short hose but I don't want to go that route. Also, if someone has a 21 or 22 first stage they'd like to sell I'd be interested.

I recently picked up a really nice Conshelf SEA first that I can use, but it is a lot heavier than I like. It's a real beauty, though. Interesting that USDivers teamed up a heavyweight first with a lightweight plastic second.

And... if anyone's interested there's a SEA/Cousteau first stage rebuild kit including filter available at the moment on everybody's favorite auction site.

I'm using a SE2, and 21. I have an XS HP port splitter so I can have an analog pressure gauge and a transmitter. My 1st stage is what i call a bullet style. Hope that helps

Marked: Conshelf Select (SE?) on knob
Weight: regulator minus yoke: 411.5g
Diameter: 41.28mm
Body height: minus yoke: 69.5mm

CCW from right: 7/16 HP, 3/8 LP, 3/8 LP, 1/2 LP and 3/8 LP straight down not shown.
Just about perfect for conventional back mount single.

As pictured, I'd rotate it about 30 degrees right, and move the second stage hoses (blue and yellow) one port to the left (unused port between LPI and short hose). But, as usual, my advice is worth what you paid for it!

Best,

James

I have mine similar to the OP but use the bottom LP port for a drysuit inflator, otherwise I would have it rotated as well.

If I understand the question.....Conshelf 21 yes, see attached. Conshelf 22 not to hand but I think so. Perhaps you could mount your XIV reversed on the tank, so the yoke knob points toward the diver when worn.

Hi, James,
I know you mentioned this before, but I'm not sure of the benefit of doing this, other than placing the primary second on the 1/2" port and a little more spread between the two second stages. I don't know how well my transmitter will connect buried behind my shoulder. I'll give it a try, though.

whaylonsmithers: That is how I would wear the XIV, but I don't think I could bear the embarrassment.

I'm not a transmitter guy, so I'm not sure on that piece. Here's an example of how I run them (granted it's with a gauge).

And my 12 y.o.'s Conshelf XIV with the LPI on 90 degree hose:
