I'm looking at getting an Aeris Atmos 2. The spec's say it is nitox compatable. I am nitrox certified & like this computer. What does compatable mean?

Compatible
Capable of orderly, efficient integration and operation with other elements in a system with no modification or conversion required.

Atmos 2 will work with nitrox. I have the Atmos 1 (non-Nitrox version) and love it. It's Very simple to use. Good Luck!

The Aeris Atmos 2 can be used to dive with air or with any nitrox mix up to 50% oxygen. They are just noting that the computer is designed to be used while diving with nitrox as well as air, and that it can keep track of your dive limits and give you the appropriate information for whatever mix of gas you are actually using (up to 50% oxygen) - provided that you analyze your gas and use the computer correctly, of course.

Thanks for the input. I feel comfortable with the decision now.

I sure did! Thanks!

I just wanted to throw in my two cents. I purchased the Atmos 2 from Scubatoys and love. I highly recommend getting the download cable when you pick it up, as I like downloading my dives and having an electronic copy to go with my dive log.

The Atmos 2 is a great computer to start with because of it's low price, and the best part is you can keep using it if you decide to take a nitrox course.

Don't forget to mention Scubaboard.com when you check out to get the discount.
