Scubadad - Halthron got it right away. I thought the line "...series of textbooks, which can be found in any third grade classroom in Sierra Leone...." gave it away, personally, but apparently not.

If your PJs are cotton it is probably your problem, they get damp from sweat (even a little bit) you get cold. Get a light 100 weight fleece top and bottom to put under the insulating layer. Wear 3 fingered gloves and a good fitting hood.

Cuddleduds for undergarments. My lady is always cold (wears coats at the racetrack in the evening in the summertime) but is never without her cuddleduds in the wintertime.

ScubaDadMiami:
I can't believe that nobody has mentioned the use of Argon in the dry suit. So I will be the one to mention it.

Probably the reason nobody mentioned it is because for a normal air breathing/air filling dive in a drysuit argon makes very little actual difference to the insulation qualities to the point that in the few tests that have been done a lot of of subjects failed to notice any difference.

Its very useful for helium based mixes where heat loss is far faster but not very useful for air.
