Hi,
Just found your forum, so thought I'd drop in for a chat.
I'm British (or English, if you're from Scotland) and am used to diving in cold waters.
Waiting for a chance to dive somewhere warm. Any recommendations?

Welcome to the gang.

As for someplace warm --- that all depends on what you want to see, and what to you call warm. Some folks around here will say anything below 70F is cold.... geesh I wouldn't get any diving done if I did that.

Hi Miss Toots

Also here a warm welcome from another European diver. Over here in Denmark we are also used to rather cold water. Where do you usually dive?

Pia

Thanks for replying
Well, so far I haven't been diving in the sea, only at an inland dive quarry. Good vis and some nice beginner wrecks, but I do want to get out in the big wide world a bit! Hopefully diving Scapa Flow (Scotland) this summer which will be some good experience.

As to temperature, well, at the moment I don't have a dry suit (I'm pretty new to all this), and I get cold very easily!

My 'home' - well, where my parents live - is in Bahrain - Arabian Gulf. Wonderful weather and up to 60C in the summer - thats somewhere in around 120F I think. So yeah, I kinda do the warm water thing. I haven't actually dived there yet, as I don't know anyone out there who dives and don't want a complete unknown as a buddy. I'm still pretty nervous!

Welcome from Texas....It's always warm here!

thanks Dee,

I like your Dee Rags, (anyway, they're cheaper than ScubaDoRags!!)

How does the order process work? Can I send you a UK cheque? Do I send you the cheque and wait for the goods or what? The site isn't all that clear!

Hi Toots,
Welcome to the forum.
Regards warm water diving.
If you dive on the west coast you get the gulf stream, he he.

:D

Hi Miss Toots from a neighbour in Hertfordshire. For that warm water experience may I suggest The Maldives, you will be able to stop off to meet Mum & Dad on the way back.

welcome to the board miss_toots. If you want recommendations check the travel forum here, lots of good advice there from those that have actually been there. I personally love the Caribbean.

Hi Miss Toots

I'm currently living in the Isle of Man - haven't started diving here yet, and have not dived anywhere in UK for that matter.

However, have dived in a few warm climes, and definitely the best place nearest to home has to be the Red Sea. Easiest places to visit are Sharm el Sheikh or Hurghada, both in Egypt.

Diving is simply excellent, reasonably priced and only 5 hrs flying time away. I strongly suggest you go here before venturing any further afield
