As I sat here perusing a few posts, somthing hit me, (no, not the wife this time).

Why do we use the term "clipped off" in the context of clipping something to a D ring?

Should it not be "clipped on"

More importantly, do I have too much spare time, or am I going crazy to post a question such as this?.

Seems like the PUG might just have a valid answer there........BUT
is my SPG off whilst it is clipped to my left hip???
I use it whilst it is "clipped off"......

It is not engaged...and therefore not "on" in the sense of "in use"...

hey man, we BOTH have too much time on our hands!
