I said a 'light' coat of silicone or Christolube on the yoke screw. I do this routinely especially with older screws that have some of the chrome worn off. I've never had a problem with dirt building up on the threads. Remember that this screw spends a lot of time under water, and if you're unlucky enough to get some grime on it, it will tend to wash off the next time you use it.

But, I'm sure it doesn't matter.
