I'll share my restaurant list...haha ;)

Christi’s Restaurant List (in no particular order)
* right around $5 or less ** $5 to $15 * ** $10 to $15 **** $10 to $30+

**La Choza – Corner of Av. 10 and Adolpho Rosada Salas Open 7 days a week for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Yucatecan style Mexican food – Shrimp Chile Rellenos, and fajitas are among my favorites.

**Sonora Grill – Corner of Av. 15 and Benito Juarez. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner.
Mexican Seafood and traditional fare. Sonora shrimp and garlic shrimp are my favorites.

**El Moro – back in the hood…just tell the taxi driver the name of the restaurant Open for lunch and dinner, closed on Thursdays. Traditional and local Mexican food with a great seafood selection. Consommé de Moro, shrimp on a wire, and Mole Enchiladas are my favorites. Try the fried bananas as a desert or appetizer.

*El Pique – Av. 30 between Benito Juarez and Calle 2 (across from San Francisco) Open 7 days a week for dinner only. My favorite taco stand. Tacos el Pastor or beef tacos with cheese, serape style

*Las Palmas (cocina economica) – corner of Av. 25 and Calle 3 Cheap eats for lunch only Monday through Saturday. My favorite is the Chicken Relleno.

*Chilangos – Av. 10 between Calle 11 and Calle 15 Open for lunch only Monday through Friday. Another cheap local eats place. Daily specials vary.

*Los Seras – Corner of Av. 30 and Calle 3 Open 7 days a week for dinner only. Another great taco place. Tacos al pastor are the best here.

*Camilo’s – Av 5 between Calle 2 and Calle 4 Open 7 days a week from 10:00am to 7:00pm
One of my very favorites! Seafood tacos and tortas. My favorites are the shrimp tacos or shrimp torta.

**** Guido’s – Main waterfront between Calle 6 and Calle 8 Open Monday through Saturday for lunch and dinner. Another favorite. Not to be missed. Excellent calzones, pizza, and I typically order the daily seafood special. .

**** French Quarter – Av. 5 between Adolpho Rosada Salas and Calle 3 Open 7 days a week for dinner only Great atmosphere. Steaks, seafood, Cajun style dishes. Orleans chicken and the pork tenderloin are my favorites here. .

***** Mesa 17 - www.mesa17.com Av. 17 between 20 and 25 by Corpus Christi Church. Open Monday through Saturday for dinner only. One of my new favorites when I feel like splurging! ANYTHING on the menu is superb! Check out the menu on their website.

***Especias – Corner of Av. 10 and Calle 5 Open Monday through Saturday for dinner only. Adrian is one of the best hosts on the island. This is a fusion of Mexican/Argentenian and exotic flavors. My favorites are the cilantro fish or chicken, or Shrimp Zambal.

**Casa Denis – in the main square. Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of the oldest restaurants in Cozumel. Shrimp fajitas or Enchiladas suizas.

**Albino's - Av. 20 between Calle 10 y 12 - Great seafood and radiional Mexican dishes; open for lunch until about 6:00, I THINK 7 days a week, possibly closed on Sundays

***Manati - Corner of Av. 10 y Calle 8 - Mango chicken, shrimp scampi and Blue Cheese and Spinach Lasagna are my favorites. Open Monday through Saturday for dinner

*Viva Mexico (NOT the club on the waterfront) - On Benito Juarez at the corner of Av. 55 - best Pozoli on the island!

I'll also second La Mission on 30th (not the one downtown, and definitely not the house back on 55th) for great tacos and Mexican plates.

Don't know how I left a couple of these off...

Christi’s Restaurant List (in no particular order)
* right around $5 or less ** $5 to $15 * ** $10 to $15 **** $10 to $30+

**Coco's– Cornerish of Rosada Salas and Av. 5 - just inside the square next to Pro Dive and banamex - Teal window trim will give it away - Open Tuesday through Sunday 6:00 am to 11:59am - Closed the months of September and October - My favorite breakfast spot by far...try the breakfast Super tacos or the Taquitos

***Acquario - On the waterfront at the corner of 11th (stoplight) across the street from Neptuno Disco - They have a new chef, so if you've tried this place in the past and didn't like it, give it another shot. Oceanside deck seating makes this place an excellent choice for sunset dining. Fresh seafood, steaks and "cheffy" type dishes - Open daily for lunch and dinner. Everything I've tried on the menu has been great!

****Prima - Corner of Rosada salas and Av. 5 (upstairs) - Open seven days a week for dinner only - Many people rave about this place. It was never one of my favorites in the past (always preferred Guido's over it), but after an amazing dinner there last week with Moodiejeff and Mia...I've decided it needed to go back on my list. The Lobster Ravioli, Lobster Fra Diablo, and Surf and Surf or the combo are excellent choices. An excellent place for Steak and Lobster as well.

**Rock-n-Java - On the waterfront just south of Punta langosta mall and the naval base - Open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner - but they close at 2:00pm on Saturdays - Excellent sandwiches, soups, salads, vegetarian dishes, and light entrees.

****La Veranda. On Calle 4 between Av. 5 and 10 If you're looking for a vry romantic dinner, this is the place...beautiful garden setting and great food...although it's been quite awhile since I've been there.

OK...I'm getting too hungry now and none of the above are on my diet :) Well, maybe a few of them :) If I think of any others, I'll post them

Happy Dining and Diving!

Hey, thanks for the list. Sometime Next year probably May-August we are coming back to Cozumel are you a dive operator? If so what's the name of your operation? Thanks again

Poncho's didn't make your list. It's in my top 3. :D :eat

Is Santiago's closed permanently? Over my past few visits (usually in May) it's been up sometimes and down sometimes. This past May it was down the whole time I was there.

It's a shame if it's gone for good; I really liked tyhe food there, especially their dorado pinwheel with embedded shrimp, wrapped in bacon...mmmmmmmmm... Is it lunch time yet?

And La Perlita...

Cozoholic:
...but remember, this isnt our list - its Christi's....
Yeah, you're right, but I'm going to give my opinion any way :crafty: <<<----- (notice the smiley)

Just got back on Monday and here's what I ate in order of nummy goodness.

1. Lobster tail at Prima was the best (again!) and the company wasn't too bad either ;) Mia had the seafood combo fettucine which was pretty darn good too.
2. Crab stuffed Salmon at Acuario was out of this world. I don't think of Salmon as a "tropical" fish dish but it was amazing. Mia had Mahi and that was good too.
3. Mesa 17 - Crab stuffed Grouper was a close third. Plus their cheesecake dessert is one of my favorites anywhere... yes anywhere, not just Cozumel.
4. Shrimp Zambal at Especias. A bunch of Scubaboarders met up there and we had a fantastic time.
5. The Wahoo marinated in Balsamic Vinegar over veggies at Guido's was our 1st meal on the island and was really good (and free, thanks again Chris!!!). Went there for dinner towards the end of the trip and was pretty disappointed. Was hit & miss this trip.

Hope that helps!

I second Christi's list - she has execellent taste and every single one of the places she recommended for us was exactly as described and excellent.

I'm also surprised she didn't mention La Perlita, as it was one of my favorite places for lunch (we even went twice) and we went there on Christi's recommendation.

Sorry guys...as I said above...I can't remember ALL of them :) Since it's too late to edit the above post, I just have to add to it.

The original list I kept to what I could fit on one page...even then it was squeezed on...haha!

Perlita is definitely a great local place that should have been on my list...but I can't give you the address or even tell you how to get there...I am on auto pilot when I go there :) I'll make note of the address next time I go!

Natasha...Pancho's didn't make my list because I persoannly don't really like it. I've had some really bad meals there and I think it's overpriced and there are much better choices. However, the atmosphere is GREAT! I will give it another try just for you though :)

Another I forgot was:
