We are planing on diving at the casino park again this May-October and want to stay overnight on occasion as opposed to several day trips on the express.
Thinking about a diver friendly hotel, and have narrowed it down to the Hermosa & and the Seaport Village Inn.
Has anyone stayed at either of these and can give any advice. I know it is a bit of a walk from the Hermosa to the dive park and the seaport will pick you up at the ferry dock.
But will the seaport, say pick you up from the park, and take you to the hotel or would you need some sort of cart to haul you stuff up the hill.
How are they overall, any particular rooms in the seaport that are the ones to reserve.
Thanks ahead of time for any tips.:coffee:

Seasport!

They'll drop you off and pick you up. Plus, they have rinse facilities.

Not to mention, they're good folks.

Seaport Village is a really good place to stay. They will take you to the park and pick you up. They have breakfast in the morning too.

Both hotels are very diver friendly. The Hermosa has the advantage of being right in town. Seaport has the advantage of transport to and from the dive park for divers, plus a hot tub.

The Hermosa used to be the all time go-to for Econo overnighters, $25 midweek and $35 weekends, but after the new ownership they joined the pricey group. Seaport's "tub" and transport gets my vote today.

If you do choose hermosa, you can get a cart at Scuba Luv, and I like the cabanas ALL the way up at the top, you have to go outside to get to the head but there's a nice deck in front of the rooms to hang out on, you can lay your suits on the roof in front of you to warm and dry them for PM dives and your off the street/noise.

Have Fun!

Thanks for the tips.
I am leaning more towards Seaport Village Inn. They seem to offer a bit more for what I need.
I like to do day trips on Saturdays with friends, but want to do some Tuesday/Wednesday trips and stay at least one night.
Rates are much, much cheaper during the weekdays.
Does anyone know the difference between rooms.
The standard and regular room do not have a mini frigerator and microwave, and are the least expensive.
Up a bit in price is the olive room, then up again are the maiden, catalina, and premium rooms. The suites are out of my budget and as a single traveler most of the time would not need.

lived here on the island, I've only stayed in two hotels... and that was because I'd partied too much and friends had me stay with them rather than walk the two blocks to my home! Therefore I can't remember much about those hotels. Of course this was way back in my much younger party days.

I'm partial to the Via Portafino. Close to two step but a walk to the dive park.
